Tellonym, a remote tech company based in Berlin, is seeking a Senior Backend Developer (m/w/d) with 5+ years of Node.js experience and extensive Typescript knowledge to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will take ownership of implementing new features, optimizing performance, and enhancing existing code in a system that runs on Node.js, AWS, MySQL, Apache Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Redis, and WebSockets. You will work in a supportive, learning-friendly atmosphere with a diverse team, impacting a social network used by millions of people.

Your responsibilities

• Take ownership and implement new features and improvements into our Node.js API.
• Enhance your knowledge to implement product requirements or performance optimizations.
• Understand existing code and rework it to fulfill coding standards.
• Draft architectural decisions together with the Tech Lead.
• Have a direct impact on team processes and conventions by regular retrospectives.

Qualifications

• Living in Europe.
• Enthusiastic about Node.js with 5+ years of experience.
• Extensive Typescript knowledge.
• Confident with SQL databases, especially optimizing for performance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passionate about writing well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Value an environment of candid feedback.
• Used to work in an English-speaking environment.
