Automation / Performance Engineer (m/w/d)

Qdrant is hiring a freelance Automation / Performance Engineer (m/w/d) to ensure their open-source vector database maintains top-tier performance and reliability. As a part of the Rust Team, you'll work closely with developers, creating and maintaining CI pipelines, developing performance benchmarks, testing enterprise solutions on cloud platforms, and identifying areas for test automation. Leverage your Python, Bash, Rust, and Graphana experience, contribute to an innovative AI project, and enjoy a flexible, remote work environment.

Your responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to understand new features and updates
• Create and maintain CI pipelines for continuous testing and performance monitoring
• Detect, report, and track software defects and inconsistencies
• Prioritize critical issues and ensure they're addressed before product releases
• Develop and execute performance benchmarks to test scalability, speed, and robustness
• Evaluate compatibility, reliability, and performance of Qdrant on various cloud platforms
• Identify potential security vulnerabilities or pitfalls associated with cloud deployments
• Identify areas for test automation and help build those capabilities
• Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks
• Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) process

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software quality assurance
• Practical experience in Python, Bash, Rust, and Graphana environments
• Familiarity with various databases, concepts, and related technologies
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Structured approach to work with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work well in a team
